Varsha Bhosle, Asha Bhosle’s daughter, kills herself

Varsha Bhosle, the daughter of famed singer Asha Bhosle, committed herself today at her mother’s Peddar Road home in South Mumbai. She was suicidal and had attempted suicide twice previously, both times being hospitalized after taking sleeping drugs. She was down and out. Furthermore, she committed herself today using a handgun from the Mangeshkar family. The cause of death was determined to be suicide.
Varsha Bhosle was born in the year 1956.
Hill Grange High School is located on Pedder Road. She performed in Marathi and Hindi films. She also attended her mother’s performances. It led her to a career in journalism. She was a contributor to Rediff.com (1997-2003), The Sunday Observer (1994-1998), The Times of India, and Gentleman Magazine (1993). She also contributed to the police publication Rakshak – The Protector.
In 1998, she divorced sports journalist Hemant Kenkre.
She has been residing on Pedder Road with her mother since then.
Asha Bhosle immediately travelled from Singapore to Mumbai after learning of her death. Everyone was taken aback when they learned of her death.
