The EPFO Central Board of Trustees will make a decision on the interest rate for 2022 in March.

Next month, the EPFO Central Board of Trustees will vote on the interest rate on employee provident fund deposits for 2021-22.
When asked about the EPF interest rate for 2021-22, Union Labour Minister Bhupender Yadav told PTI that it would be discussed at the EPFO CBT meeting in Guwahati in March.
When asked whether EPFO would maintain the 8.5 percent interest rate established for 2020-21, Yadav, who also heads the CBT, said that the decision will be dependent on the year’s predicted revenue.
In March 2021, the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) set an interest rate of 8.5 percent on EPF deposits for the fiscal year 2020-21.
In October 2021, the finance minister authorised it, and EPFO instructed field offices to credit the 8.5 percent interest revenue to subscribers’ accounts.
