The Bihar Government’s Priority For Mental Health Is ‘Least,’ According To The Patna High Court.
The Patna High Court remarked that the Bihar government’s priority for mental health and treatment seems to be “least,” and directed the chief secretary to make all necessary steps to ensure the establishment of a State Mental Health Authority.
A division bench composed of Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice S Kumar expressed astonishment at the absence of such a body in the state.
“It seems that the state government’s emphasis on mental health and treatment of those in need, notably during the Covid-19 era, is at a bare minimum,” the bench said.
