Navjot Sidhu and Bikram Majithia react after colliding at a voting station

SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia and Punjab Congress chairman Navjot Singh Sidhu, running for the Amritsar East assembly seat, exchanged short greetings when they met at a voting station in the city on Sunday.

During the election campaign for the Amritsar East seat, which has become one of the most closely followed races in the Punjab elections, the two opponents have been relentlessly criticizing each other.

Majithia, a senior Shiromani Akali Dal politician and former minister, has abandoned his Majitha seat for his wife and challenged Sidhu, the current MLA from Amritsar East.
As Sidhu approached the booth building in the Verka district of the city, he saw Majithia emerge from the door, and the two leaders exchanged short greetings.

Majithia also met with bureaucrat-turned-politician Jagmohan Singh Raju, the BJP candidate for Amritsar East, and the two exchanged pleasantries.
Raju and Majithia exchanged warm embraces, with the BJP leader placing a hand over the Akali leader’s shoulder and the two chat for a few minutes.

Punjab Minister and senior Congress politician Raj Kumar Verka and AAP leader and party candidate Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh exchanged pleasantries at a voting station.
