Mlas’ Assets: Sukhbir Badal is the Biggest Gainer, according to a report from Punjab ADR
This year’s state elections in Punjab have sparked unprecedented election fever, and an ADR poll indicated the assets of 78 out of the 77 MLAs in the Punjab legislative assembly who are running for re-election had climbed by 2 to 2,954 percent.
According to an assessment of their election papers, the average asset increase for these 101 MLAs between the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections is 2.76 crore.
Shiromani Akali Dal member Sukhbir Singh Badal (SAD) was found to have had the greatest wealth increase of 100 crores in the Jalalabad seat. In 2017 he had a net worth of 102 crore; in 2022, it had grown to 202 crore. Manpreet Singh Badal, a politician of the Indian National Congress, has seen his wealth rise from 40 crore in 2017 to 72 crore in 2022.
