Highlights of the UP Elections 2022 include the completion of the second phase of voting for 55 seats
The second round of voting in Uttar Pradesh finished on Monday at 6 p.m. There were 586 candidates in this round, representing 55 seats and nine districts.
In the 2017 elections, the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 38 of the 55 seats, followed by the Samajwadi Party (SP) with 13, the Congress with 12, and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) with two.
SP leader Azam Khan (Rampur) and state ministers Baldev Singh Aulakh (Bilaspur) and Suresh Khanna (Bilaspur) were among the notable candidates that ran in Monday’s second round of elections (Bilaspur).
On February 10, Uttar Pradesh had a voter turnout of more than 60% in the first round of assembly elections for 58 seats.
